Getting into PC gaming can be a bit intimidating, but following our guide to the best budget gaming PCs under $ 500, will ensure that you have all the tools to build the perfect gaming rig for your needs. Also, with this budget formation, you will be able to enjoy all your favorite games without breaking the bank.

Build Overview

In the modern era of computing and technology, many people will wonder what a $500 gaming pc  budget can buy, although the best gaming rig we have here is one you can buy for that price tag. Think 1440p gaming, VR compatibility and more! All sounds great come true? Well it is not, you just need to know which areas to prioritize and which ones to compromise….

So, what else sets this apart? Okay, let’s have a look:

high performance. The graphical performance of this build with PS4 Pro (if not better) is easily on par and easily trample the original PS4. The CPU is also a significant step up from the power of the PS4 Pro (which is roughly equivalent to an Athlon X4 8602).

To upgrade. This build is designed to serve a specific goal, good gaming performance at an affordable price, while upgrading in the coming years. Take CPU and GPU as prime examples. You can upgrade both your CPU and GPU to much more powerful counterparts in the future, the versatile KOO we’ve gone for, which should in principle last longer than anything else in the price range.

Simplicity We went with a builder-friendly case for this rig. We have considered this case to be the right size for beginner builders and are not too complicated when you get thicker. It is equipped with a 3 from shelf fan, meaning that no additional cooling should be purchased, however, if you are planning to upgrade the line that you have that you have purchased further cooling assistance if necessary. May go.

How We Choose the PC Components

At VPC, we have experience building computers and mentoring friends, families and our readers. All of our build recommendations have been meticulously researched, using similar builds we have completed for ourselves in the office or for personal use and most importantly built with budget and performance in mind. We work tirelessly to ensure that our builds are up to date, efficient and offer high performance to the lucky reader who is going to make it.

We do not just use our knowledge and experience, we keep up to date with the latest technology in our industry and we use different benchmarks to compare multiple components. We check our build daily to make sure everything is still in stock and the price still gives you the best bang for the buck. We are there to support you.

The AMD Ryzen 5 2600 was one of the best budget CPUs on the market and its reputation has only improved with the introduction of Ryzen 3000 chips that have pushed the price down further. With this processor, you will be able to enjoy your game without a CPU bottleneck and can protect yourself for future upgrades. This CPU is hard to beat in terms of price and makes day to day work and light work for gaming. The Ryzen 5 2600 provides a great foundation for this build without breaking the budget!

GPU

PowerColor Red Dragon Radeon RX 570 4gb GDDR5

The RX 570 is currently considered the top budget GPU in the $ 130 range and is equipped with all the punching power of its master, the RX 580. This GPU can easily provide 1080p 60fps in maximum settings in most modern games following our benchmark stress test. And will easily maximize old games as well. One thing to note though is how the VR 570 is not designed for VR gaming or high resolution. However for a budget card under $ 150, it is definitely excusable. Its performance is significantly higher than that of the PS4, and around the PS4 Pro. For the best graphical display, you can get in this range, look no further. The PowerColor’s version of the RX 570 comes equipped with a great dual fan configuration that is extremely efficient.

RAM

This Corsair LPX RAM Kit provides 16GB of DDR4 RAM, which should be more than enough for most gaming and multitasking scenarios. A slight jump in the price range and clock speed is naturally a very solid value, better than a lot of entry-level DDR4 RAM kits you’ll find there. As many people would know, Corsair has a proven track record of delivering products with great performance and reliability, their RAM is no different and is one of the few brands that we use here at ITJD.

HDD

Crucial BX500 480GB SSD

This average size 480GB Crucial SSD is the cheapest I am willing to recommend but offers great storage capacity and performance in its price range. By investing in SSD, you can store your OS and some of your favorite games for rapid-fire load and boot time. SSD is one of the best investments for your investment as it provides the greatest quality of life improvement. If you choose an SSD, be sure to install your operating system, so that you can get the most out of your performance!

PSU

Unfortunately, we were not able to equip our $500 gaming pc build with a modular PSU and you can thank the rising prices for this. Although, we have equipped with this build, it is a fully acceptable non-modular 500w bronze rated PSU from EVGA which guarantees much higher quality and longevity.

MOBO

MSI ProSeries B450M PRO-VDH Motherboard

For a machine at this price range, the MSI B450 Pro motherboard is far more perfect. It may be an entry-level motherboard, but it is still an entry-level PC, and you do not yet have the budget to get the components to be somewhat expensive. The motherboards don’t really affect gaming performance at all, so you’ll be fine even when you upgrade.

CASE

Thermaltake Versa H22 ATX PC Case

Thermaltake Versa H22 ATX PC Case

The Thermaltech Versa H22 may not sound like a budget case, but it is one. It is really great, with a $ 40 price tag, great airflow and a clean aesthetic design. We do not yet experience any real problems in this matter and consider it a great value for money. Unfortunately, it does not have a glass viewing window, but is equipped with very good (1x) out-of-the-box cooling fans. As stated above, the case already comes with 1 cooling fan, however if you want to meet the full airflow capability of the case, I would recommend a couple to have 120mm extras. You can sometimes make this kind of compromise in this price range as well, but fortunately when adding an extra intake fan you should only run for $ 10- $ 15 – we have the recommended pick up in the optional upgrade below is listed. You cannot find a more versatile gaming case for less than $ 40 and it is one of our top prices.

Why is This The Best Cheap $500 Gaming PC Today?

If you are playing a game or competitive shooter, this is the best budget gaming PC in which you can get your hands on the price range.

8 GB of RAM allows you to play just about any game comfortably (8 GB is still the threshold for gaming) while you can also do some multitasking on the sides.

Both the CPU and GPU of this cheap gaming PC build are enough to deliver 1080p gaming with an average of 60 fps for most titles. (You may have to play with some settings for the new  game to maintain that frame rate).

What games can this PC run?

In this section, we are going to tell you how this game should be able to play your favorite game.

Fortnite – Fornite should run well in 1080p60 at high-to-max settings.
PlayerUnogn’s Battleground – PUBG should run at medium-high settings in 1080p60.
Monster Hunter: World – MHW must run on medium-high settings in 1080p60.
League of Legends – League will work fine at maximum settings in 1080p60.
Dota 2 – see above.
Overwatch – Overwatch should perform well at high-to-maximum settings at 1080p60.
Rainbow Six: Siege – Siege should perform in 1080p60 at medium to high settings.
Warframe – The warframe is very lightweight, so it should be easy to achieve maximum settings @ 1080p60 with this build.
Grand Theft Auto V – GTA V is quite intense, so expect medium-to-high settings and low framerates in 1080p60 if you decide to maximize it.
Team Fortress 2 – TF2 should generally perform well at 1080p and 1440p, but due to a weak CPU in this build it will not have the most stable performance without a performance configuration.
